1.Since both equations represent the same information, they must be equivalent to each other.

1b. Show the steps you could use to turn Carlos’ equation into Clarita’s. Explain why you can do each step.

A: The key concept is in “Since both equations represent the same information, they must be equivalent to each other”. Since the two EQs represent the same information, you can set the 2 Eqs equal to each other (like we did for 1a.). But this time look at Carlos eq. to turn into Clarita’s eq. Clarita’s eq. has a format different than Carlos’s eq. Clarita’s starts with 24x + 6y = 360. So, you’ll want to ISOLATE the constant “term” on one side of the ” = ” sign. The constant term is the term without “x” or “y” terms. Give a try by writing to show your “try”. We can solve it tomorrow if you still don’t get it after you’ve tried.
